Hair Colouring in Leeds

Whether you want a natural root touch-up, sun-kissed balayage, full-head highlights or a bold fashion shade, our colourists will take you there safely and with a tone that actually suits your skin.

Hair colouring is the service where technique matters most. Our senior colourists work in thin, mapped sections, lift gradually to protect the hair’s integrity, and finish with a toner and gloss so the result looks dimensional rather than flat.

Every colour service at Harbour starts with an in-person consultation. We look at your natural base, the history of any previous colour, your skin tone and the finish you’re aiming for. If an appointment needs to be split across two sessions to keep the hair healthy, we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

A patch test is required at least 48 hours before any colour appointment. You can book Consultation & Patch Test via our booking page.

How to look after it

  • Wait 48 hours before the first wash to let the colour lock in.
  • Use sulphate-free shampoo and a colour-safe conditioner.
  • Rinse with cool water where possible — hot water fades colour faster.
  • UV and chlorine are colour’s worst enemies; use heat and sun protection.
  • Book a toner refresh every 4–6 weeks to keep the tone true.

Colouring FAQs

Common questions about colouring at Harbour Hair Salon.

Why do I need a patch test before colouring?

A patch test checks for allergic reactions to colour products and is required at least 48 hours before any colour appointment. You can book Consultation & Patch Test via our booking page. The current price is listed in our service menu.

Do you offer balayage and highlights?

Yes. We offer a full range including full head colour, root touch-up, partial and full highlights, balayage, babylights and fashion colours.

How long does a colour appointment take?

Most colour services take between 1.5 and 3 hours depending on length, density and the technique used. Your colourist will give you an exact estimate at consultation.

Can you correct a colour done somewhere else?

In most cases, yes — but colour correction often needs to be split across two sessions to keep your hair healthy. Book a consultation first and we’ll give you an honest plan.
